Effective October 21, 2026Last updated October 21, 2026

ReelApply (“ReelApply,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect personal information when you visit https://reelapply.com, create an account, use our platform, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the “Services”).

ReelApply is designed to help job seekers present their professional backgrounds and connect with potential employers. Candidates can create profiles and optionally upload video introductions. Employers can register for accounts and, when available, use paid features to search candidate profiles.

This Privacy Policy applies to candidates, employers, website visitors, and other individuals whose personal information we process through the Services.

By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have had the opportunity to review this Privacy Policy. Where consent is legally required for a particular activity, we will seek that consent separately.

  • Resume or other career-related documents, if supported.
  • Profile photograph or other images, if provided.
  • Video introductions and associated media.
  • Other professional information you choose to include in your profile.

You are responsible for deciding what information to include in your profile. We encourage you not to include sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for your job search.

For employer accounts, we may collect:

  • Employer and organization name.
  • Business contact details.
  • Information about the account administrator and authorized users.
  • Subscription plan and account preferences.
  • Information submitted in connection with recruiting activities.
  • Communications with ReelApply.

Communications and support

If you contact us, we may collect your messages, email address, contact details, attachments, and other information you choose to provide.

B. Payment information

  • Employers may be required to pay for certain subscriptions or features.
  • When an employer makes a purchase, we or our payment processor may collect information necessary to process the transaction, such as billing contact information, transaction amount, payment status, subscription details, and limited payment-method information.
  • Full payment card details may be processed directly by our payment provider rather than stored by ReelApply.
  • Candidates can create accounts under our current free candidate offering. If paid candidate features are introduced, the applicable payment terms will be disclosed before purchase.

C. Information collected automatically

When you access the Services, we may automatically collect certain technical and usage information, including:

  • IP address.
  • Browser type and version.
  • Device type and operating system.
  • Dates and times of access.
  • Pages and features viewed.
  • Referring website or source.
  • General usage activity and interactions with the Services.
  • Diagnostic, error, and security logs.
  • Cookie identifiers and similar technologies, where used.

We use this information to operate the platform, understand usage, troubleshoot problems, protect accounts, and improve the Services.

D. Information from third parties

  • We may receive information from service providers that support account authentication, payment processing, hosting, security, analytics, or other platform functions.
  • If you use an integration or third-party service to connect to ReelApply, we may receive information that the service makes available under your authorization and its applicable terms.
  • We may also receive information from employers or other users when they communicate with us about an account, profile, or suspected violation of our Terms of Use.

2.How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information for the following purposes:

  • Providing the Services: Creating and maintaining accounts, hosting candidate profiles and videos, and providing platform features.
  • Profile visibility: Applying your privacy settings and making candidate information available to employers when you choose to make your profile visible.
  • Employer services: Managing paid employer accounts, subscriptions, payments, and authorized access to candidate search features.
  • Communications: Sending account verification messages, service notices, security alerts, support responses, and other operational communications.
  • Payments: Processing employer purchases, managing subscriptions, preventing payment fraud, and maintaining transaction records.
  • Security and fraud prevention: Detecting suspicious activity, protecting accounts, investigating misuse, and enforcing our Terms of Use.
  • Maintenance and improvement: Diagnosing errors, monitoring performance, improving usability, and developing platform features.
  • Legal compliance: Complying with legal obligations and responding to valid legal requests.
  • Disputes and enforcement: Establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims and enforcing our agreements.
  • Other disclosed purposes: Using information for additional purposes that we disclose when collecting the information or otherwise as permitted by law.

We do not use personal information for purposes materially different from those disclosed without providing additional notice or obtaining consent when required by law.

3.Candidate Profile Visibility and Video Privacy

Candidate profiles are private by default.
  • Creating an account, entering profile information, or uploading a video does not automatically make a candidate profile visible to employers.
  • A candidate must affirmatively choose to make their profile visible before it becomes available through ReelApply’s employer-facing candidate search functionality.
  • When a candidate chooses to make a profile visible, employers using the relevant features may be able to view the information included in that profile, including an optional video introduction.
  • Candidates can change their profile visibility through the settings made available by ReelApply.
  • Changing a profile to private will prevent future access through the platform’s employer-facing search functionality, subject to technical processing time and applicable legal requirements. It may not retract information that an employer has already viewed, downloaded, copied, or otherwise lawfully obtained.
  • We do not guarantee that information previously received by another person can be retrieved or deleted from that person’s independent systems.
  • We use measures designed to enforce profile visibility settings. However, no technical system is entirely free from error or unauthorized access. If a privacy incident occurs, we will respond in accordance with applicable law.

4.How We Share Personal Information

We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances.

A. With employers

  • If you choose to make your candidate profile visible, we may disclose the profile information you included to employers using the applicable ReelApply features.
  • If your profile is private, it will not be made available through ReelApply’s employer-facing candidate search functionality unless you affirmatively choose to make it visible.

B. With service providers

We may share information with vendors that help us operate the Services, including providers of:

  • Website hosting and cloud infrastructure.
  • Database and file storage.
  • Authentication and account management.
  • Payment processing and subscription management.
  • Email delivery and customer support.
  • Security, monitoring, and fraud prevention.
  • Analytics and performance monitoring.

These providers may process personal information on our behalf to perform services for us, subject to applicable contractual and legal requirements.

C. For legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, or other lawful processes.
  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of ReelApply, our users, or others.
  • Investigate suspected fraud, security incidents, or violations of our Terms of Use.
  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

D. Business transfers

If ReelApply is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, or sale of some or all of its assets, personal information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards.

E. At your direction or with your consent

We may disclose personal information when you direct us to do so or when you provide consent for a particular disclosure.

F. No other sharing beyond disclosed purposes

We do not disclose personal information except as described in this Privacy Policy, as otherwise disclosed when information is collected, or as permitted or required by law.

5.Sale of Personal Information and Targeted Advertising

ReelApply does not sell candidate videos.
  • Our intended business model is to charge employers for access to recruiting features, rather than sell candidate personal information to data brokers.
  • Whether a particular disclosure qualifies as a “sale” or “sharing” under California privacy law depends on the actual arrangement and applicable legal definitions, not solely on whether money changes hands.
  • Before publishing this policy, we will verify whether any advertising, analytics, tracking, or other third-party technologies used by ReelApply constitute a sale or sharing of personal information under applicable law.
  • If ReelApply is subject to applicable opt-out requirements, we will provide the required method to exercise those rights and honor applicable opt-out signals, including Global Privacy Control signals where required.
  • We will not state that personal information is never sold or shared unless that statement accurately reflects our actual practices.

6.Cookies and Similar Technologies

ReelApply and its service providers may use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies to:

  • Keep users signed in.
  • Maintain preferences and session information.
  • Support security and fraud prevention.
  • Understand website performance and usage.
  • Improve the Services.

The specific technologies used will depend on the features and third-party services integrated into ReelApply.

You may be able to manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Services.

Where required by law, we will provide appropriate choices and disclosures for non-essential cookies and similar tracking technologies.

7.Artificial Intelligence and Automated Processing

  • ReelApply may introduce features that use artificial intelligence or automated processing to support platform functionality.
  • If such features are used, we will disclose the relevant processing in accordance with applicable law and update this Privacy Policy as necessary.
  • ReelApply will not use candidate videos to train general-purpose artificial intelligence models without the required consent or other lawful authorization.
  • Unless separately disclosed, users should not assume that ReelApply makes employment decisions on behalf of employers. Employers are responsible for their hiring decisions and compliance with applicable employment laws.
  • If we introduce AI-powered candidate ranking, screening, recommendations, video analysis, or other materially significant automated processing, we will assess the applicable legal requirements and provide any required notices, choices, or safeguards before implementing the feature.

8.Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing the Services, maintaining accounts, processing payments, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and protecting the platform.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the reason it was collected. For example:

  • Account and profile information may be retained while an account remains active.
  • Videos and uploaded files may be retained while associated content remains on the platform.
  • Payment and transaction records may be retained for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, and legal purposes.
  • Security logs may be retained for a period appropriate to security and operational needs.
  • Backups may retain deleted information for a limited period before it is overwritten or removed.

When information is no longer reasonably necessary, we will delete it, de-identify it, or otherwise handle it in accordance with applicable law and our retention practices.

9.Security

  • We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, and misuse.
  • No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • If a data breach occurs, we will provide notifications as required by applicable law.

10.Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, the nature of your relationship with ReelApply, and applicable law, you may have rights concerning your personal information. These may include the right to:
