Welcome to ReelApply. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the ReelApply website, platform, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1.About ReelApply
ReelApply is an online platform designed to help job seekers present their professional backgrounds and connect with potential employers. Candidates can create professional profiles and optionally upload video introductions. Employers can create accounts and, when the relevant features become available, search for and review candidate profiles.
In these Terms, “ReelApply,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the legal entity operating the ReelApply Services.
2.Eligibility and Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Services.
- You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering and to keep your account information reasonably up to date.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us promptly at hello@reelapply.com if you believe your account has been accessed or used without authorization.
- You may not create an account using false information, impersonate another person, or use another person’s account without permission.
- We may refuse registration, suspend access, or terminate accounts when reasonably necessary to protect the Services, users, or our legal interests.
3.Pre-Launch Services and Feature Availability
ReelApply may make certain features available before the platform’s public launch. Features may be incomplete, limited, unavailable, or subject to change during this period.
- Employers may be permitted to register before launch. Candidate search and other employer functionality may remain unavailable until ReelApply activates those features.
- We do not guarantee a particular launch date, uninterrupted availability, or that any planned feature will be released.
- We may change, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the Services, subject to applicable law.
4.Candidate Profiles and Privacy Settings
- Candidates may create profiles containing information such as their work experience, education, skills, qualifications, and other professional information.
- Video introductions are optional. You are not required to upload a video to create or maintain a profile.
- Candidate profiles are private by default. A candidate’s profile will not be made available to employers through ReelApply’s candidate search functionality unless the candidate affirmatively chooses to make the profile visible.
- Creating an account, completing a profile, or uploading a video does not, by itself, make a private profile visible to employers. Candidates may change their profile visibility through the settings provided by ReelApply.
- When a candidate chooses to make a profile visible, employers using the applicable ReelApply features may be able to view the information included in that profile, including any video or other content the candidate has chosen to include.
- Candidates are responsible for reviewing their profiles and visibility settings before making information visible. We encourage candidates not to include sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for their job search.
- We use measures designed to apply the privacy settings provided by the Services. However, no website or information system can be guaranteed to be completely secure or free of errors. If information is exposed contrary to a candidate’s settings, we will respond as appropriate under our policies and applicable law.
- Profile visibility settings do not control information a candidate has independently shared, information already lawfully received by another person, or disclosures described in our Privacy Policy.
5.Candidate Accounts and Fees
- Candidates may create and maintain accounts without paying a subscription fee under the current candidate offering.
- ReelApply may introduce additional paid candidate features or change the features available under its plans in the future, subject to applicable law. Any applicable charges will be disclosed before a candidate purchases a paid feature or subscription.
- Candidates are not required to purchase a subscription to create a profile under the current free candidate offering.
6.User Content and License
“User Content” means information, text, photographs, videos, profile details, documents, and other material that you submit, upload, or otherwise provide through the Services.
- You retain ownership of your User Content, subject to any rights held by third parties.
- By submitting User Content, you grant ReelApply a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, and display that content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, secure, and provide the Services in accordance with your settings and our Privacy Policy.
- This license includes making your content available to employers or other users when you choose to make it visible through the Services.
- The license ends when your content is deleted from the Services, except to the extent continued use or retention is reasonably necessary for legitimate purposes such as security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, enforcement of these Terms, or maintaining backup copies for a limited period. Retained content remains subject to applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
- You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to submit your User Content and grant the license described above.
- You must not upload content that infringes another person’s intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights.
- ReelApply will not sell candidate videos or use them to train general-purpose artificial intelligence models without the required consent or other lawful authorization. Any processing of User Content remains subject to our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
7.Candidate Responsibilities
As a candidate, you agree to:
- Provide information that is accurate and not intentionally misleading.
- Keep your login credentials secure.
- Upload only content you have the right to share.
- Use the Services for legitimate employment-related purposes.
- Respect the privacy and rights of other users.
- Review your profile and visibility settings before making information available to employers.
- Notify us if you discover unauthorized access to your account or a material issue with your profile’s visibility.
You understand that employers may use information you make visible to evaluate your qualifications for employment opportunities.
ReelApply does not guarantee that employers will view your profile, contact you, interview you, or offer you employment.
8.Employer Accounts, Subscriptions, and Payments
Employers may use the Services to access candidate information made available through the platform and to support legitimate recruiting and hiring activities.
By registering as an employer, you represent that you are authorized to act on behalf of yourself or the organization you identify.
Employer subscription plans
- Certain employer features require a paid subscription or other payment. Before completing a purchase, employers will be shown the applicable price, billing frequency, subscription duration, and other material payment terms.
- Employer subscription prices and plan features may vary. The terms presented during checkout will govern the particular purchase, together with these Terms.
Billing and recurring charges
- If an employer purchases a recurring subscription, the employer authorizes ReelApply and its payment processor to charge the applicable payment method at the disclosed price and billing intervals until the subscription is canceled or otherwise ends.
- Any automatic renewal, renewal price, applicable taxes, and cancellation deadline or process will be disclosed before purchase, as required by applicable law.
- Employers are responsible for keeping their payment information current and paying applicable fees.
Cancellation
- Employers may cancel subscriptions using the cancellation method provided by ReelApply or by contacting hello@reelapply.com, where applicable.
- Unless otherwise stated at checkout or required by law, cancellation will take effect at the end of the current paid billing period. The employer will retain access to paid features through the end of that period unless the subscription is suspended or terminated under these Terms.
- Cancellation of a subscription does not automatically entitle an employer to a refund for a period already paid.
Refunds
- Unless required by law or expressly stated in the applicable purchase terms, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide credits for partially used billing periods.
- Nothing in these Terms limits any refund, cancellation, or other right that cannot lawfully be waived.
Payment processing
- Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers. Their applicable terms and privacy policies may also apply. ReelApply does not store full payment card details when those details are handled directly by a third-party payment processor.
- We may suspend or restrict paid features for failed payments, suspected fraud, chargebacks, or other legitimate payment-related concerns, subject to applicable law.
Employer responsibilities
Employers agree to:
- Use candidate information only for lawful recruiting, hiring, and related employment purposes.
- Comply with applicable employment, anti-discrimination, privacy, data protection, and consumer protection laws.
- Make employment decisions based on lawful, job-related criteria.
- Keep account credentials secure and limit access to authorized personnel.
- Protect candidate information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, or loss.
- Honor applicable requests concerning candidate information where legally required.
- Avoid collecting, copying, exporting, or retaining candidate information beyond what is reasonably necessary and legally permitted for legitimate recruiting purposes.
- Refrain from selling candidate information or using it for unrelated marketing, profiling, or other unauthorized purposes.
Employers must not discriminate against candidates on grounds prohibited by applicable law. Employers are responsible for their own hiring practices, employment decisions, communications, and compliance obligations.
ReelApply does not act as an employer, staffing agency, or representative of any candidate or employer merely by providing the platform.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, qualifications, identity, or suitability of any candidate or employer. Users are responsible for conducting their own lawful verification and due diligence.
9.Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or discriminatory purposes.

- Copy, resell, distribute, or commercially exploit the Services or user information except as expressly authorized.
- Use candidate information for unrelated advertising, solicitation, surveillance, or data brokerage.
- Harass, threaten, defame, or otherwise abuse another user.
- Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, threatening, or otherwise prohibited by law.
- Use automated tools to access the Services in a manner that places unreasonable demands on our systems or violates these Terms.
- Attempt to reverse engineer or exploit the Services except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
We may investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including removing content, restricting access, suspending accounts, or terminating accounts.
10.Video and Other User-Submitted Media
- If you choose to upload a video, photograph, or other media, you are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and permissions.
- Do not upload media that unlawfully includes another person’s image, voice, personal information, or copyrighted material.
- You understand that a video may reveal personal information beyond the words you say, including your appearance, voice, surroundings, or other identifying details.
- Before making a profile or video visible to employers, review the content carefully to ensure you are comfortable sharing it.
- ReelApply does not guarantee that media uploaded by users is authentic, unaltered, accurate, or free from manipulation. Users must not misrepresent media or use it to deceive others.
- We may remove media that violates these Terms or creates legal, security, or safety concerns.
11.Intellectual Property
- The Services, including their design, branding, software, text, graphics, logos, and other platform materials, are owned by or licensed to ReelApply and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
- Except as expressly permitted by these Terms, you may not reproduce, modify, distribute, publicly display, sell, or create derivative works from our platform materials without prior written permission.
- These Terms do not transfer ownership of ReelApply’s intellectual property to you.
- You retain ownership of your User Content, subject to the limited license granted in the User Content and License section.
- If you believe content on ReelApply infringes your intellectual property rights, contact us at hello@reelapply.com with sufficient information to identify the content and explain your concern.
12.Privacy and Data Handling
- Our collection, use, disclosure, and retention of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy.
- The Privacy Policy explains how we handle information such as account details, profile information, videos, usage data, and information shared with employers or service providers. It also describes applicable privacy rights and how to exercise them.
- These Terms do not replace the Privacy Policy or any separate consent or notice required by applicable law.
- You should not submit information through the Services that you are not authorized to share.
13.Third-Party Services and Links
- The Services may rely on third-party providers or include links to third-party websites, products, or services.
- ReelApply does not control and is not responsible for third-party services, their content, availability, security, or privacy practices.
- Your use of third-party services may be subject to separate terms and privacy policies. You are responsible for reviewing those terms before using such services.
14.No Guarantee of Employment or Hiring Outcomes
- ReelApply provides a platform to facilitate the presentation of candidate information and potential connections between candidates and employers.
- We do not guarantee job interviews, employment offers, hiring decisions, candidate visibility, employer responses, or any particular outcome.
- ReelApply does not guarantee that candidate profiles, videos, resumes, employer listings, or other user-submitted information are accurate, complete, current, or authentic.
- Candidates and employers are responsible for their own communications, representations, evaluations, and decisions.
- ReelApply does not guarantee that use of the Services will result in a successful job search or recruitment process.
15.Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, REELAPPLY DISCLAIMS IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, available at all times, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant that defects will be corrected or that information provided by users is reliable or accurate.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
16.Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, REELAPPLY AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF REELAPPLY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO REELAPPLY FOR THE SERVICES DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) US $100.
These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory under which a claim is brought, including contract, tort, negligence, or another basis, and even if a party has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
These limitations do not apply to the extent prohibited by applicable law. Certain jurisdictions do not permit some limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
17.Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ReelApply and its owners, officers, employees, and agents from and against third-party claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or related to:
- Your User Content.
- Your use or misuse of the Services.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of applicable law or the rights of another person.
- Your fraudulent, negligent, or willful misconduct.
We will provide reasonable notice of a claim for which indemnification is sought. We may participate in the defense of such claim with counsel of our choice at our own expense. You may not settle a claim in a way that imposes an obligation or admission of liability on ReelApply without our prior written consent.
Nothing in this section requires you to indemnify a party to the extent prohibited by applicable law.
18.Suspension and Termination
- You may stop using the Services at any time. Where account deletion is available, you may request deletion through the Services or by contacting hello@reelapply.com.
- We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms, created a security or legal risk, misused another user’s information, failed to pay applicable fees, or engaged in conduct that may harm ReelApply or its users.
- Where reasonably practicable and appropriate, we may provide notice or an opportunity to address the issue. We may act without prior notice when necessary to protect users, investigate suspected misconduct, comply with law, or address urgent security concerns.
- Upon termination, your right to access the affected Services ends. For paid employer subscriptions, termination and any refund will be handled in accordance with the applicable subscription terms and law.
- Certain information may be retained as described in our Privacy Policy or as required or permitted by law.
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply, including provisions concerning intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute-related matters.
19.Changes to These Terms
- We may update these Terms from time to time.
- When we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to provide notice, such as posting the updated Terms on our website and updating the effective date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent.
- Your continued use of the Services after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Services.
- Changes to employer subscription pricing or billing terms will be handled in accordance with the applicable subscription agreement and law. We will provide notice or obtain consent where required.

- Subject to applicable law, disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be brought in the state or federal courts located in [insert appropriate California county], and the parties consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
- Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking relief in another forum where required by applicable law or from asserting rights that cannot legally be waived.
21.General Provisions
- Entire Agreement. These Terms and the policies expressly incorporated into them constitute the agreement between you and ReelApply concerning your use of the Services, except where a separate written agreement applies.
- Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by law.
- No Waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.

We may assign these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of relevant business assets, subject to applicable law.
